Students at MHS will be performing the play “Clue”. This fast-paced unhinged murder mystery is based on the classic 1943 board game made by Anthony E. Pratt.
The story follows the classic board game characters going through a night at Boddy Manor, starting as a dinner party before taking a thrilling turn. “Clue” will deliver suspenseful entertainment with a comical twist, both mysterious and comedic, keeping the audience on the edge of their seat until the very end. “Clue” was previously adapted to the big screen in 1985 by Jonathan Lynn, and the 1993 play takes inspiration from the movie.
The director of the play, Jeremy Kimberlin, enjoys the show’s energy stating, “Clue has been fun and it’s a show that’s going to leave you guessing until the end on who’s done it.” Students seem excited to bring the show to life as well.
Junior Rose Kidd said, “The show is crazy and fun, and as it goes on the characters get crazier and the plot becomes unhinged”, and that Clue has stood out to her because of how “everyone fits in with and has done an amazing job playing the characters they got.”
When senior Brandon Miller, who is playing Mr. Green was asked about what he thought made his character special he said, “He’s nervous and even jumps at little things” Miller believes that the play showing this throughout “really highlights his personality.”
Doing his first play at MHS, Myles Bray said that his character, Professor Plum, is “cocky and arrogant but still very funny” and that “all the characters being so different makes a variety.”
The actors enjoy the show’s comedic and fast-paced nature and are excited to be able to put it all together for all of us to see and enjoy.
“Clue” will be performed Friday, March 15th, and Saturday 16th at 7:00 pm, they will have a matinee performance on Sunday, March 17th at 2:00 pm. Attendees can get their tickets at the door and will cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for students/children.
