On Jan. 26, Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and seven other people died in a horrific helicopter crash.

The death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna was a shock to everyone and still is. In the 11 months that have followed, almost every former, and current NBA player has talked about or honored Bryant and Gianna in some kind of way. Many current athletes have worn shoes, or wristbands, or even jerseys. The Los Angeles Lakers wore Bryant-inspired black mamba jerseys all throughout the playoffs this year. Other sports teams have done different things to honor the legend; the Los Angeles Dodgers wore Bryant jerseys in warm ups; NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs wore purple, yellow, and black cleats with the No. 8 and No. 24 honoring Bryant. There were even more athletes that paid homage to Kobe too many to name, but it’s safe to say that Bryant’s death affected a lot of people.

Kobe Bryant was considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Bryant is currently 4th in points all time with 33,644; he also finished with 6,306 assists and 7,047 rebounds in his career. He has inspired millions and millions of fans around the world and has inspired many many athletes who try to become him on the court.

Even though it’s been almost a year since that fateful helicopter crash, people still can’t get over the fact that one of the greatest basketball players of all time and his daughter Gianna died way too soon. Lets not forget the seven other people who died in the crash as well.
