REVIEW: Shoe Sensation provides quality footwear in Monroe

I’m sure we were all surprised to hear the news that Monroe was getting a new shoe store. Monroe is known for having empty buildings everywhere due to stores closing down or running out of business, so when the city receives a new store, everyone’s a little less disappointed.
In early November, Shoe Sensation opened in Monroe at 2010-2161 Mall Road. Shoe Sensation is located in the Telegraph Plaza that also includes Kohls, T.J Maxx, and PetSmart. The grand opening occurred on Nov. 8-10. During the grand opening, they offered rewards such as free shoes for a year and $100 gift cards.
When I visited the store, I was surprised with what I saw. There were customers everywhere searching for the perfect shoe, and the employees greeted me right when I walked into the door. There were cookies offered on a table up front, a chance to enter to win free shoes, and a donation bin for “Socks 4 Troops and Veterans.” This display at the front of the room gave the store a friendly, caring feeling, like the employees care about their community and customers.
Multiple rows of different types of shoes filled the store — winter boots, basketball shoes, sneakers, and more. Brand name shoes filled the store. Racks of slippers and socks were also on display. The walls were red and white, and the big window at the front of the store lit up the room. Employees were running everywhere to help customers. The service was wonderful.
I was very impressed with my visit to Shoe Sensation. I was expecting an average shoe store with generic shoes that nobody really wants, considering it is Monroe and there isn’t much offered in this bland city. But I was surprised when I walked into a store full of name brand shoes such as Filas, Vans, Puma, Sperry, Adidas, and Nike.
Overall, I am very pleased with my visit to Shoe Sensation, and I will definitely be making another visit. Shoe Sensation is a great addition to Monroe due to the lack of shopping sources in the city. I recommend this store to those who want to purchase quality footwear.
