President Donald Trump has been accused of pressuring the leader of Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son during a phone call on Sept. 25.

Trump had a phone call with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy which a whistleblower accuses was used by Trump to pressure Zelenskiy into investigating Hunter Biden’s involvement with Ukraine.

Many Americans believe that this phone call will lead to an impeachment for Trump.

The Bidens and Ukraine

Hunter Biden worked on the board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma from 2014 to 2019.

In April 2014, Hunter Biden joined Burisma while it was facing controversy over concerns of corruption in the company.

During the scrutiny, Hunter Biden joined the board and was paid as much as $50k a month. It was believed that Hunter Biden was leading a legal unit.

It is also believed by some that Joe Biden used his influence to cease any investigations about whether or not Hunter Biden was involved in the legal affairs.

Trump’s Opinions and Involvement

Transcripts have been released from the phone call Trump had with Zelenskiy. In the documents, the whole conversation between Trump and Zelenskiy was shown and the things that they had talked about.

The documents said that Trump said that he wanted Zelenskiy to look into Joe Biden and Hunter Biden’s involvement with Ukraine.

“There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it … It sounds horrible to me” Trump said. (CNN)

This conversation has the country brewing over whether Trump broke laws, and furthermore, if Trump should be impeached from office.

Trump Impeached?

Last week Democrats moved forward to try and get Trump impeached from office.

Fox News said Democrats say that Trump was in the wrong to ask Ukraine to look into Joe Biden.

“Democrats claim Biden’s intervention was driven by corruption concerns and that Trump improperly pushed Ukraine’s government to investigate a political opponent, using U.S. aid as a cudgel.” (Fox News).
