Fall Out Boy shares new sounds in music

Olivia Bleyaert, Reporter

Fall Out Boy just released its album “MANIA” on Jan. 19, and it has changed the whole game in the way they do music. The few past albums, Fall Out Boy has made changes in their sounds if you compare it to one of their older albums like “Infinity On High” or “From Under The Cork Tree.” The group has gone away from its original punk sound to a more “pop punk” sound, which shows their confidence and ability to keep it fresh.

On the album, they have ten tracks including “Young And Menace,” “Champion,” “Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea,” “HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON’T,” “The Last Of The Real Ones,” “Church,” “Heaven’s Gate,” “Sunshine Riptide” (Ft. Burna Boy), and “Bishops Knife Trick.”

The album does not feel rushed, where other artists feel the pressure from fans to release an album and quickly work on it. Artists should take their time to create great masterpieces for the world to listen.

The best song from the album is “Sunshine Riptide,” which is a great jam to listen to when you just want to relax. This song is upbeat and a chill song at the same, not an easy sound to achieve. This song makes it feel like its summer when you listen to it. Also, another reason I like this song is that they collaborated with Burna Boy, an artist from Nigeria, because we really don’t know what the music industry is like in Nigeria.

Overall, all of their songs from this album are special in their own way and show the guys change the way they are doing music. They are really brave for doing that, honoring their fans.

You can buy “MANIA” on ITunes, Amazon, and listen it on Spotify.
