On Sept. 27, MHS will be holding Trojan Pride Day, a full day event for Trojan Family Time (TFT) classes to compete against each other for a fun, group bonding, and team building experience.

Last year, Principal Sandy Kreps said she decided to make TFT a team building and a fun experience. Kreps had the TFT teachers choose leaders from their class and these TFT Leaders will be guiding their class through the games and activities during the school day.

Trojan Pride Day was created through these efforts.

The day will be full of competitions from every wing. “I expect people to come out of their shells and have a great, positive, and fun time,” said Kreps.

Games like tug-of-war, human rope and trivia will be played. For lunch that day, TFT’s will come together for a barbeque outside where Kreps said she hopes each team can get some fresh air, socialize and share their thoughts about the games.

Many TFT leaders do have different feeling of how their TFT will react. “I expect people from my TFT to be involved and to have a good time,” said a senior TFT leader Cole Chappell.

On Sept. 8, the TFT Leaders had a meeting with school officials regarding what was going to take place on Trojan Pride Day and what their responsibilities are going to be.

“My responsibilities as a TFT leader are to direct my classmates through the day,” said junior Trey Henderson. “I have been informed how everything is going to work, so I will be explaining the games, trivia questions, and events.”

Kreps said she really wanted to have the day setup for the TFT leaders to lead the whole day. She also said she really feels that the students will feel more engaged because the person leading them is a friend.
