MHS students present ‘Murder in the Manor’

Emily Tayler, Reporter

This year’s play includes lots of humor and mysterious twists that will have audiences on the edge of their seats.

”Murder in the Manor,” unlike others, is very interactive with the audience. Instead of being seated in rows within the auditorium, the audience will be seated on stage, almost as if they are actually in the restaurant. Audience members will also be served dinner to add to the restaurant theme.

Another component that makes this play different from others is that this play has two casts; Cast A and Cast B.

The two casts will alternate days for their performances. Cast A will perform on Friday, March 31 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 1 at 2pm. Cast B will perform on Saturday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 2 at 2pm.

During and before the show, a cast member will be selling raffle tickets for $1 or 6 for $10, and for every ticket purchased, it gets the audience member the chance to talk to any cast member of his/her choice and that cast member will give him/her clues as to who the murderer is. When spent, the tickets are also entered in a drawing.

During intermissions, the alternative cast will serve food to all of the guests in the “restaurant.”

Food that is being served is as follows: spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert, coffee and water. The cost of the ticket covers all costs within the play, except for the raffle tickets (which are not required).

Adult tickets for the show will cost $20, and student tickets will cost $10.

Towards the end of the show, the audience will fill out a “Whodunit” sheet and turn it in with the name of the person they think is the murderer.

At the very end of the show, a drawing will be held. Everyone who chose the correct character will then be placed into another raffle and the winner of that raffle will receive a prize.
