If you think about it, 2016 was such a bizarre year. Leaving 2016 gave us all a relief when entering into 2017, which will hopefully be a better year. There’s too many things we need to leave in 2016, from beauty trends, to crazy videos, to actual crazy occurrences.

One thing that I’m sure we all can agree on of what to leave in 2016 is clowns. Whether you have a fear or not, from October to November clowns gave you a freight. Clowns popped up everywhere in the United States; this “trend” grew to even outside of the United States. Clowns terrorized citizens, and people made it seem like a joke. If you had a clown costume on, you had the chance of getting arrested. If clowns are giving people freights and getting arrested, the trend should definitely stay in 2016.

If you think of something you use every day and times that by 100, then it would give you the “100 layers of _ challenge.” This trend started on YouTube where someone had put 100 layers of foundation on their face, from there it spiraled off into other crazy things. From hairspray to self-tanner to even duct tape, people had put all these things on themselves. This is a very unsafe trend that we all can agree should stay in 2016, not to mention all the products you are wasting when doing this trend.

Advertising/endorsing by celebrities. Something that has been around for many years. Celebrities and people in the public eye do it not only for endorsing the product but for the cash. These people could sell anything to their fans and at the same time be getting paid double to do that. Celebs such as the Kardashian family do this all the time. Many celebs including the Kardashians advertise on Instagram mostly. There are tons of other social media apps that people do advertise but for the most, Instagram has a younger audience to sell things to. This trend is tricking hard working people into spending their money. Instagram for the most part should be about showing pictures, not to start a business. Easily, this can trick young people, especially kids, into thinking this is normal. To further not exploit kids from greedy people, this should definitely be left in 2016.
