Lady Trojans win districts, move on to regionals

Monroe varsity softball has been having an incredible season. The team’s overall record (as of June 7) is 32-3. On June 4, the girls became district champions for the second year in a row; districts were held at Gibraltar Carlson high school.

The first opponent the Trojans faced was Bedford in the semi-finals, coming to an ending score of 7-1. They progressed into the finals with a close game against Woodhaven and resulted in an ending score of 3-2, gaining the Trojans another district title.

Between the two games, junior Shayna Frank, pitcher, had a total of 24 strikeouts.

The Trojans will be playing Plymouth for regionals on Saturday, June, 11. It will be held at Saline High School.
