Senior Skip Day came with great weather and memories for Monroe High Students. From Cedar Point to relaxing at home, students enjoyed an extra day of freedom from school.

Senior Hanna Capell went to Kalahari water resort with her friend Mia.

“I wasn’t really feeling Cedar Point and didn’t want to stay home, so this was a fun way to spend my day away from school.”

Senior Kobi Hayter spent her skip day hanging out with her friend Riley.

“We just relaxed all day and hung out; we ate some good food, too.”

Some seniors did go to school instead of skipping. Senior Aaron Bitz attended school Monday instead skipping.

“I really needed to be here to catch up on work; I have the whole summer to do what I want so I didn’t feel like I was missing anything.”

Many juniors were anxious to start their senior year after seeing the seniors be so involved in their last year activities.

“I can’t wait for senior year because it’s my last year here, and I want to do everything the year comes with,” junior Cazz Vinson said. “Junior year has been my hardest year, so I can’t wait to say I can skip school for one day while everyone else is in school.”

The weather for senior skip day was breezy and sunny leaving a good day for seniors to enjoy their day off outdoors.

“The new ride at Cedar Point was what I was mostly looking forward to because so many people were talking about it. When I finally got to ride it, it was so fun and I wanted to do it again,” said senior Lauren Garling.
