Due to recent bad weather, Monroe High’s beloved Winterfest dance, and a majority of the themed week itself, was rescheduled.
The Disney-themed dance was moved to the date of March 12 from its original date of Feb. 4. The time of the dance is 7-11pm.
The themed week is also returning the rescheduled week of the dance, but not all of the days are staying as they originally were.
The week will start off with College Sports Wear Day, a day to show off your love for your favorite college team, be it Ohio State or U of M.
Tuesday will be Dress Disney Day, as it originally was.
Wednesday is also going to be an originally scheduled day as Class Color Day. Freshman color will be blue, sophomore color is black, junior color is green, and senior color is orange.
Adding another new twist to the week will be Thursday’s Ugly Sweater Day. Time to raid your parents or grandparents closet, or even a thrift store to find one of those itchy sweaters we all know and love.
Finishing the week will be our beloved Spirit Day. It’s the time to bust out your Monroe gear to show your pride for our school.
And of course the dance will end our week, hopefully uninterrupted by Michigan’s moody weather.
Tickets for the dance will be on sale the week of the dance for $10 in the commons, in case you didn’t get a chance to purchase one last time around.
“I’m glad they changed the date for Winterfest because now I can go and a lot of my friends can go now, too. Yay Winterfest,” said freshman Ashley Jewell.
