Along with all of the newly updated shopping places and restaurants coming to Monroe, you can expect even more in the near future. The Monroe Factory Shops, will be experiencing majorly needed renovations, including work and updates on the building as well as many new restaurants and stores being added in.

According to the Monroe Evening News, the shopping center was bought by Chris Harter, age 32. Harter has old connections with Monroe and is also a partner of a holding company. The property was bought for $695,000. Mazer Holdings, the name of the company in which Harter is a partner, is a holding company located in Georgia that bought the property once Harter brought it to their attention. Harter is a 2001 Monroe High graduate and also graduated from the University of Michigan.

Harter told the Monroe Evening News that the plans for the center include a $2 million investment, and work is expected to start in 2016. Both local businesses and national businesses are expected to be put into the center. The purchase was also announced by Harter on his Facebook page, which received a lot of feedback.

The shopping center is located on 14500 Laplaisance Road, according to factoryoutletstores.info, which is located right off of exit 11 on I-75 out by Bolles Harbor.

Chris Marino, who is a real estate agent at Coldwell Banker Haynes Real Estate, is the agent who sold the property to Mazer Holdings.

There have been multiple meetings on the plans with the shopping center, but no permits have been issued yet to begin work, according to the Monroe Township Hall business office.
