More than one million flyers later, the search has come to a close.
A body, whom the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office have identified as Chelsea Bruck, was found in a field by a wooded area on private property near Briar Hill Road and Will Carleton Road in Ash Township, on Friday, April 24 (mlive.com).
Bruck, 22, has been missing since Oct. 26, 2014. She was last seen at a Halloween party in Frenchtown Township dressed as the character “Poison Ivy” from the Batman series.
“It’s been a long complicated case,” said Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone. “It was a puzzle. We’re at three-quarters of the puzzle. And we’re not gonna stop” (freep.com).
They Deputy Chief Heath Velliquette said the body appeared to be there for months. He also added that they had to use the dental records to identify her body (mlive.com).
Nathaniel Bruck, Bruck’s brother, posted a status onto their Facebook page, “Help Find Chelsea Bruck,” which has more than 12,000 members. He wrote, “I want to thank everyone for their efforts. And while this may be the end of the search, it is also a new beginning. The beginning of the search for justice for my sister” (freep.com).
