For years, young adult novels have turned into movies through the lens of a few cameras and many talented actors. This year, many page-to-screen adaptations are hyped up by media and fellow book readers like me.
The first one I can’t wait to see comes out March 20 and is a sequel. This is “Insurgent,” sequel to “Divergent,” starring Theo James for the role of Tobias Eaton and Shailene Woodley with her newly cut hair for the role of Tris Prior.
My next most expected is “Mockingjay Part 2.” This is said to come out Nov. 20 and will be the last installment to the Hunger Games series. This stars Jennifer Lawrence as the wildly known Katniss Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark.
“Paper Towns” will be John Green’s second novel to be plastered onto the big screen. Margo Roth Spiegelman will be embodied by Cara Delavigne and Nat Wolff will be playing Quentin Jacobsen. This is starting off our summer right with a release date on June 5.
“The Scorch Trials” will follow up “The Maze Runner” this year. The movie is set to premiere on Sept. 18. Dylan O’Brian will continue the role of Thomas and Kaya Scodelario will also keep her name on screen as Teresa.
Last, but certainly not least, is Serena by Ron Rash. Bradley Cooper transforms into Pemberton. Jennifer Lawrence once again steals the screen with the role of Serena. Feb. 26 was the release date so go get your tickets now!
