Remember all that snow we had over the past few days? You can expect more to come! In addition to the 15 inches of snow we received this past weekend, the two inches from Tuesday night, and the two inches from Wednesday evening, we can expect to see a little more this weekend.
On the weekend of Feb. 1, a whopping 14 to 15 inches fell in Monroe, Michigan, with accumulations of well over 6 inches across all of southeastern Michigan.
Back streets and country roads of Monroe County were left untouched and very hazardous, until a later point. It was reported that roads were so bad that a Monroe County Road Commission truck had flipped overnight Sunday Night while working on the roads in Summerfield.
In the past weekend, Monroe County a medium-level travel advisory was issued because of how icy and bad the roads were. This advisory’s purpose is to keep people safe and help create opportunities for roads to be plowed.
The snow we are expected to see this weekend is anticipated to be two inches or less. In other words, not enough to cancel school.
The recent snow we have received caused many accidents on the freeway and has also claimed the lives of some people in Saginaw County.
Only light snow and a bit of rain is expected this weekend, which means no school cancellations are expected for next week.
