Along with the winter season coming around, a much anticipated bowl season comes along to heat up the cold weather. This year’s top five bowls (Orange, Cotton, Rose, Sugar, and the National Championship) are the most talked about since Tim Tebow and the Gators due to the star caliber and high –intensity of each team in these major games. Here are the projections for these top bowls:
National Championship—Auburn vs. Florida State. The Florida State team is the real deal, while the Auburn Tigers have had some miracle endings to put them in this game. Look for the Florida State offence to pass attack a lot, opening a 38-10 gash on the Tigers.
Rose Bowl—Michigan State vs. Stanford. The MSU Spartans have been running on cloud nine all season rolling over teams, however doesn’t compete with the smash-mouth run offence the Stanford Cardinals display. It’s a close game, but Stanford edges the Spartans 31-28.
Sugar Bowl – Oklahoma vs. Alabama. The Alabama Crimson Tide wants to restore its dominance against a sluggish Oklahoma team. No question, Alabama will run up the score, 42-10.
Cotton Bowl – Oklahoma State vs. Missouri. This game will be a high-scoring game from the start as both quarterbacks have outstanding numbers due to the height of receiver. This game will come down to who can provide a stop in the late of the game. Missouri does have the advantage in the point spread, but looking at this Oklahoma State defense; the Cowboys will slide by in an upset of Missouri 28-24.
Orange Bowl – Ohio State vs. Clemson. The Clemson Tigers are the Atlantic division team on a high role; however, the Ohio State team is searching for vengeance after a title-crunching defeat by the Michigan State Spartans. This game will be a close one, but the big 10 doesn’t match with vertical passing teams, Clemson 35-21.
