Senior Kenny Sloss is an active student: not only is he a player on the varsity football team and a part of Positive Peer Influence, but he is also in Monroe High’s National Honor Society. He is one of those low-key smart kids.
Sloss’ main love is football; a big accomplishment this year was that he became captain for the MHS varsity team.
Sloss has been playing football for as long as he can recall. “I remember when I lived in Detroit as a kid we had a backyard football team for all the kids in the neighborhood,” said Sloss.
Sloss has a role model, too: one who also achieved a lot in life and had his dreams of being successful become reality.
“Ray Lewis is the best, because he is the perfect definition of a good leader,” said Sloss.
After high school, Sloss wants to go to the University of Michigan because he said believes it’s a good college.
Not only does Sloss look at his future, he also takes glances in the rearview mirror towards his childhood.
“My favorite memory from when I was a kid was riding the roller coaster at Jeepers, because the place was just like Chuck E. Cheese, except with a roller coaster,” said Sloss.
His favorite high school memory was celebrating the 4th of July his sophomore year.
“I like to party,” said Sloss.
He enjoys being on court because it’s just different than what he’s used to. He also enjoys being a senior.
“You don’t have to worry anymore,” said Sloss. “I can’t wait to graduate.”
