Junior Logan Harris is amongst the various candidates nominated by his fellow students for the 2013 Winterfest Court. Harris may be known from the various accomplishments and sports he plays here at Monroe High.
Participating in football, baseball, and basketball, sports have been a favorite past time for Harris since he was a child. Some of his fondest childhood memories were of him playing football with his family as a child for his birthday.
“Football was my favorite sport growing up, so I enjoyed it,” said Harris. “I used to sleep with footballs.”
The biggest accomplishment so far for Harris, however, would have to be making the National Honor Society.
“My mom was proud that I wrote the essay requirements by myself,” said Harris. “I was proud of myself too, because I didn’t think I was going to make it.”
The fun-to-be-around, reckless, and brave teenager may be found goofing off in his car, driving around, and doing donuts. But like every teenager, when not in school or taking part in sports, Harris enjoys spending his free time with the company of his friends.
“Me and my friends like to go coning at McDonalds,” said Harris. For those of you who don’t know what coning is, you order an ice-cream cone and when they go to hand it to the customer, they take the ice cream from the top of the cone, eat it, and drive away.
As of right now , the only plans Harris has for after high school are moving out of Michigan into the sunny state of Florida and hopes to continue playing sports.
