From spiking the ball to hitting it, this freshman elected Winterfest candidate keeps herself busy throughout her days at Monroe High. Her sports put a spin on her lives than most regular teenagers do not have.
Mackenzie Boatman holds up a lot on her plate as she plays two sports, volleyball and softball for the high school teams. Boatman is 14 years olds and is fighting for a spot on the varsity softball team for this springs official season.
“I like softball and I like volleyball, “said Boatman.
Boatman said she has a lot of enthusiasm towards being a young winter fest candidate in the race of 2013.
“I’m exited because I think it will be a fun opportunity for me here in my young life at Monroe High, but I don’t want to do a skit but I guess I will just have to deal with it,” said Boatman.
Not only does Boatman bring herself together with exquisite athletic talent, she has a funny side to her as well.
“I think that Mackenzie is a really funny and outgoing person. If I did not have such good friends in the same race I could definitely pick her based on her traits. She can really raise your mood in bad times,” said freshman Kyle Spare.
