Sophomore Sarah Light lives a different life than most teenage girls. Light has an identical twin sister, who also attends Monroe. Light enjoys being around her sister for the fact that they like the same things, but she does admit that at times it is difficult because nobody can tell the two apart.
Although Light is a twin, she has a very unique and one-of-a-kind personality. Light is an ambitious goal setter. In her free time, she said she enjoys writing and drawing. Making YouTube videos is also a hobby Light spends some of her time doing. No matter what it is that she is taking part in, she tries to always surround herself with people that she loves.
Two people that Light can count on are her Papa and her best friend Kalli Loggins. She said these two people mean the world to her and that she is thankful to have them as an important part of her life.
“They shape me into the person I am today,” Light said.
Along with Light’s creative and genuine side, she also has a very passionate side about the future she in which she wants to partake. When finished with high school, Light hopes to pursue her dream to become a psychologist or a counselor.
“I’ve always been fascinated by the way the brain works and how people think,” Light explained. “I would also love to help others overcome things.”
When Light was informed about her nomination on Winterfest court, she admits that she was a little surprised at first.
“I immediately felt humble and grateful that I was chosen!” Light added.
Whether Light is with her friends, her sister, being creative or setting goals for her future, one thing that is always constant is the caring attitude that she displays.
