Sophomore Pashyon Adams has a “passion” for cheering. She has been cheering since she was 10 years old and successfully made it on the JV team this year. She loves to dance and perform in front of big crowds, so performing the skit in front of over 2000 people wasn’t a problem for Adams.
“I’m still nervous for the skit, but I haven’t really been thinking about it,” said Adams before performing Monday morning. “But I really don’t have a choice. It’s not that I didn’t want to be on court, I didn’t ask people to nominate me or anything; my friends just put my name on the paper and turned it in.”
Adams has three sisters and one brother and looks up to her mom the most out of her family because her mom has always been there for her.
Adams said she hopes that getting good grades and, being a hard working cheerleader will really pay off in the end when she graduates. She said she hopes to become a pediatrician or a vet, which will be difficult, but Adams doesn’t plan to stop until her dreams are fulfilled.
Adams said she hopes her job will also help her to travel when she is older.
“If I had to choose anywhere to travel, it would probably have to be New York, not the state in general, New York City. That would be amazing if I could go there and see all the lights and people crowding the streets.”
Adams still has time for her friends though; she doesn’t let school or cheer get in her way of hanging out with her friends and family and having fun on the weekends when she’s not at school.
