Every once in a while you come across a person who loves something so much that they seem to have turned into it. Like a person who loves flying so much they seem like a bird. Or a person who loves skydiving so much they seem like…a bird without wings. Okay, so maybe that example isn’t that good. But one freshman Winterfest candidate loves the water so much that he seems to have turned into a fish. And, ironically, his name is Fisher Blackmore.
Blackmore has loved the water since he was a kid. He really got into swimming when he was in seventh grade when he joined the swim team. He found it so fun that he continued to do it and also joined the dive team here at MHS, where he went to states and had an experience of a lifetime.
“It was probably one of the most nerve-wracking things I’ve done. There were a lot of people way better than me, but it was an honor to go there, and I hope I’ll make it again sometime in the future,” said Blackmore.
Along with swimming and diving, Blackmore also likes tubing, wakeboarding and, of course, fishing. Blackmore fishes in his fishing spot up north and loves every minute of it. Even his dream job involves water. He would love to go to the University of Hawaii to become a marine biologist.
In his spare time you’ll find him hanging out with friends or outside somewhere. Blackmore is liking MHS a lot and is thrilled to be a candidate for Winterfest.
