Have you ever heard a beat to a song that just blows your mind out of your face? Well, it’s not Transformers making them beats; it’s people like Devin Peterman, a candidate on this year’s Winterfest court.
Peterman makes complex and compelling E.D.M (electric dance music) beats on his computer, on a program called Ableton Live 8. He’s been doing this for about four years now and still loves it.
“I hope to be able to do shows for a huge crowd someday,” said Peterman.
Peterman also is talented at a form of gymnastics known as tricking. For those who don’t know what tricking is, it is a form of acrobatics where a person, or tricker, does challenging combos of flips, kicks, and twists that just look plain awesome. It’s said to be the most difficult of many other acrobatic activities because it combines martial arts, gymnastics, and break dancing, making it all the more impressive.
“Bad weather will never stop me from missing a trick session!” said Peterman, quoting one of his favorite trickers, Daniel Pitlock.
Peterman has also taken an interest in drawing and photography. He enjoys and is talented in creating stunning images, whether it be from his hand or from his camera. He plans to further extend his knowledge and experience by going to college for photography or music.
For Peterman, art is a big part of his life, whether it be drawing, making music, or taking pictures. His constant creativity may surely bring his name in lights in the future.
