On Oct. 23, the mini iPad was displayed at an Apple event in San Jose, California; here visitors looked over the item and all it has to offer. And indeed it does have a lot to offer.
It appears that even our technology is now trying different diets to slim down. The new iPad mini, as you could of guessed, is a smaller iPad, standing seven inches tall, rather than the original nine and a half inches. Because of the smaller dimensions, the iPad has slimmed down to 307g (without smart cover) from its original weight of 652g of the iPad one and 601g of the iPad two.
Along with its size, other features of its appearance have been altered, such as the ppi (pixels per inch) that has been slightly raised to 163ppi rather than the 132ppi of the original iPad. Along with the ppi, the display itself will be a noticeable difference to Apple fans who are used to the retina display, for retina will no longer be used in the iPad mini.
Your eyes, however, aren’t the only thing that will notice the change. One major difference in the new iPad mini is the new stereo speakers (the only iPad that has them). Its loudness and clarity is stronger and crisper than that of the original iPad.
However, it is more expensive than many analysts thought it would be, standing at $329 for a Wi-Fi model. If you are a fan of the iPad, then you need to check out the iPad mini at Apple.com that is now for sale.
