MHS CLUBS:
At Monroe High,there is a club for every type of person. The broad range of clubs MHS has to offer can be overwhelming to new students because it’s hard to choose which club to pick! Whether you are a student who enjoys science or you are a student who loves art, there is a club for you.
HOSA
Advisor: Leah Morelli
Interested in the health science field? If so, think about joining HOSA. HOSA stands for Health Occupation Students of America. Many students interested in the health field look to this club as a guidance into the health care profession. HOSA is a national organization where students get the opportunity to travel to competitions where they compete in front of health care professionals and judges. HOSA is also very active in fundraising, trying to make a difference for people who deal with illnesses. The first meeting was held on Sept. 27. Meetings will be on Thursdays after school in room D122.
GUITAR CLUB
Advisor: Brian Demaggio
If you enjoy the beauty of the guitar and have a passion for it, the guitar club might appeal to your interest. Club leader senior Nick Wilson summed up what this club was all about. “We jam out, but we also teach guitar,” Wilson said.
SCIENCE CLUB
Advisor: Kyle Christensen
The science club invites all students who love science to attend. The meetings happen once a month and are usually held in Christensen’s room B109. Students come to watch cool experiments and enjoy delicious cookies. The club combines different levels of science to make a fun learning environment.
GAY-STRAIGHT-ALLIANCE

The GSA club here at MHS gives students of all sexual orientations and gender identities a place where they can come have fun and be free of judgment. The club meets on the third Thursday of every month in room D222. The purpose of this club is to create a safer and more respectful environment for students. Teens can come together and talk about issues they hold in common without feeling judged or fearful of being disrespected.
S-CLUB
Advisor: Katelyn Martin
President: Kennedy Daly
S-club is a club that focuses on women empowerment. S-club stands for Soroptimist Club. The members of S-club focus on the women and children of the community. It has no set days of meeting, so see Martin or Daly with questions or for the next meeting time and place.
PEP CLUB
Advisor: Kris Ray
Pep club has just started up this year, but has no set days of meeting at this time. Any student who is interested in Trojan spirit and takes pride in his/her school can join. Members of pep club are required to show up to school sporting events and cheer on the mighty Trojans. Any information regarding pep club will be made on further announcements at school. Pep club T-shirts were sold during lunches during the first week of October.
DECA

If you are interested in business and marketing, DECA is the club for you. There is no scheduled timing or days that DECA meets, but further announcements will be made regarding when this club meets. If you have any questions, talk to Oklejas or Murray.
ART CLUB
Advisor: Amy McBroom
Whether it’s painting a mural or painting a picture, Art Club is a club all about creativity. Art Club meets every Thursday in room F108 to discuss upcoming projects. Anyone is able to join, and if there are a few things you don’t know about art, you can learn through the other members of the club! The club is currently discussing and planning on making a mural for the fire department. Along with big projects, art club also focuses on painting decorations for dances held at Monroe High.
PING PONG CLUB
Advisor: Kyle Christensen
The Ping Pong club currently meets every Tuesday and Thursday. This club is all about playing Ping Pong and simply having fun. The Ping Pong club hopes in the future to play in a community ping pong tournament and maybe do some fundraising. If you are interested in this club, join by attending the meetings held twice a week in room B109.
CALCULUS CLUB

If you are currently taking a calculus class here at MHS you are able to be in the Calculus club! It’s a club for those who learn calculus. If you have any questions you can talk to Rausch or Berry for more information.
INTERNATIONAL CULTURES CLUB
Advisor: Michelle Kuehnlein and Katelyn Martin
President: Ryan Gentil
This club is especially for those who love the different cultures around the world. You can experience different foods and languages while talking to some of your own club members. If you want to travel the world or go on trips with students from your school, attend the meetings that happen every other Tuesday in room A111.
MHS INTERACT CLUB

This club is all about helping others around the community and being in touch with helping others. If you are a member of this club you will be involved in a lot of volunteer work and some fundraising. No set meeting day has been made.
CHESS CLUB

The Chess Club will be starting again sometime during the month of October! If you like to play chess or are interested in this club talk to Pete Opferman in room B219.
ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE SURVIVAL CLUB

If you can’t wait for the Zombie Apocalypse, and you are ready to take on the invasion of brain-eating creatures, the Zombie Apocalypse Survival Club is the club for you.
TROJAN IMPACT
Advisor: Dave Henry
Trojan impact is a new club here at MHS. This club is all about making a difference in the community and helping others around them. The students in this club hope to help get students active in helping around the county and eventually hope that their work can go international. There hasn’t been a set day for this club to meet yet, so see Henry in room A208.
DRAMA CLUB

The drama club is putting on the show “Little Women” which will be shown Nov. 16, 17th and 18.
