Senior, Julian Miller, recently auditioned for the hit television show, The X Factor. You may know Miller from his self-recorded Youtube music videos, covering various popular artist. Now, he is also known as one of MHS’s Homecoming candidates for 2012.
When X Factor producers caught glimpse of the inspired teen’s videos, they got in contact with him to see if he’d be interested in trying out for the show. Craving fame, Miller said he took advantage of this opportunity and traveled all the way to North Carolina where the auditions were taking place.
If auditioning in front of thousands of people isn’t nerve-racking enough, you have to receive approval of the worldwide famous judges, Simon Cowell, L.A Reid, Demi Lovato, and Brittney Spears
Unfortunately, when the audition did come around, he said he only received two approvals from Cowell and Spears out of the four different judges. To advance to the next level of the television show you must receive at least three approvals minimum. Although impressed, the two other judges, Lovato and Reid agreed he could use more practice and time before he took the next step in his career.
“Auditioning was a life-changing experience,” said Miller. “Being in front of people I watched on TV for years was unreal. Being there and only getting two yesses and not getting through gave me motivation to start writing more of my own music and getting better at what I do. Ever since then a lot of big things have been happening. Being on court is always so fun, it brings a lot of people you didn’t know before together and gives you a chance to get to know them.”
Disappointed, Miller said he was upset they asked him to audition when he didn’t even make it through the first round. The teen said he didn’t let this minor block on his path get him down, and instead still kept his motivation and aspiration for his dreams. The talented musician said he is continuing his journey to fame one step at a time in hopes to accomplish success one day.
