Senior Michael Cyr stands out from the sea of students at Monroe High not only in stature, but also in spirit. He is loud and energetic, as well as a joker and can often be found with a genuine smile spread across his face. A sporty guy, Cyr plays offensive tackle and defensive tackle on the school’s varsity football team and said he also enjoys weight lifting.
On the other end of the spectrum, Cyr said he is a big fan of children’s movies.
“I love A Bug’s Life, Finding Nemo, and Up,” he said.
When it comes to moving on to the next chapter of life, Cyr said he was not exactly sure as to where he wanted to attend college once he has received his diploma from Monroe High next June.
“I want to go to the Mid-American Conference for football. I plan to apply in the next few months.” said Cyr.
For those who don’t know, the Mid-American Conference is a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I conference consisting of thirteen schools in the Midwest area.
Cyr said he would like to go into Criminal Justice as a major in college and plans to stay in school until he receives a Master’s degree. Once that goal is reached, Cyr said he is looking to pursue working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Cyr said, “I’ve been really interested in the FBI, but I just want to make the streets safer.”
