Amanda Arnett is a 17 year old senior who moved to Monroe from Middleville, Michigan in eighth grade. She has a busy life, and doesn’t have much time for fun, but is very excited to make time for being on this year’s Homecoming court.
Arnett said softball has been her life-long passion.
“I have been playing softball since I could walk,” said Arnett.
Arnett has been playing on the MHS varsity softball team since she was a freshman. Last fall, she committed to Ball State University in Indiana, where she will continue playing the game she loves.
“I’m super excited for college,” said Arnett, “I’m even more excited for softball.”
MHS isn’t the only place or team she has played for; she has also played for the Michigan Lookouts. She also said that during the summer she would travel to a different state every weekend, just to play softball.
Besides athletics, Arnett is very involved with the school. She has been an ignition member for two years and is a part of NHS. She is also student council president and a member of the pep club.
“I go to every football game, me and my best friend organize a lot of the student section,” said Arnett.
She also has a hobby for skiing and snowboarding.
“I used to go to Colorado every winter with my family, just to go snowboarding down the mountains,” said Arnett.
