For many girls, homecoming court is something dreamed about even from a very young age. For senior Cassidee Nation, this dream finally became a reality when her classmates and friends nominated her to be on court.
“It’s an honor to be on court. It makes me so thankful that I have such great friends who nominated me to be on court. It’s something I’ve found amazing since I was a little girl. I’m going to make these memories last a lifetime,” said Nation.
Nation plans on attending Ferris State in the fall, majoring in oncology to become a nurse practitioner, which is a nurse who diagnoses and treats cancer patients.
“I really want to help cancer patients and make a difference in people lives,” said Nation.
Becoming a nurse isn’t the only thing that Nation’s said has crossed her mind as she enters the college lifestyle.
“I love to write, writing’s always been my passion. I definitely thought about journalism as a career but I realized my dedication is to help those in need. Maybe I’ll minor in journalism,” said Nation.
Throughout her high school experience, Nation has been involved in varsity swimming and sideline cheerleading.
“I like to try different sports because I really like the team bonding,” said Nation. “I’m not playing any sports my senior year because I’m really trying to focus on school. I sure will miss it, though.”
MHS wishes the best of luck to Nation as she takes on more future challenges.
