Every senior plans on having a successful grad party, although sometimes that doesn’t always turn out. Some key roles that play a major part in graduation party planning are: where to have a graduation party, when to have a graduation party, who to invite, how to invite them, what kind of food should be there, and should entertainment be provided?
A common question is where should I have my graduation party? There are many choices for where to have a graduation party. Consider these options: a reception hall, a park, your house (or family members, especially if they have a large yard), or community club house. All of these choices are acceptable and normal options.
Then, there is the question of when it should be, because many of your friends are planning a graduation party as well. Personally I wouldn’t want mine right after I graduate from high school; you need time to relax. Plus there is a good chance your friend is planning theirs for the last few weeks of June to get it out of the way.
When it comes to inviting be sure you can own up to seating all of you guests. Typically seniors invite family, immediate and extended, and close friends. Some people get their invitations printed; Monroe High School has a program through Jostens. Others do a simple Facebook event invite.
Food plays a key role in your party. Make sure you purchase and order enough for your guests, but don’t overdo it because not everyone will eat. Casual parties have chicken, mastacholli, and casseroles; other parties cook out. A good idea is a taco bar, seafood, or even Chinese.
Last but not least is entertainment. Typically, there is a DJ or some sort of musical entertainment. If you have the option to have a band or singers go for it! With these key ideas in mind you are sure to have an awesome graduation party.
