Though not the most common form of entertainment for most students, podcasts have been becoming increasingly popular in the past years. Whether it be sports, crime, or simply just your favorite celebrities having a chat, there’s one to comply with anyone’s interests. For people who may  simply be looking for a new podcast or those who are looking for one to start out their podcast-listening career, here’s five podcasts that are high-rated, all completely different, and definitely worth your time:

Serial   http://serialpodcast.org/

If interested in mysteries or crime, then Serial is perfect. With each season tackling a different topic, the podcast looks at multiple different cases. It revisits these cases and points out the holes in the justice system, which could have led the ‘culprit’ to be misjudged in court, leaving them with a sentence they don’t deserve. The host, Sarah Koenig, holds conversations with victims, witnesses, and even the ‘culprit’, leaving the listener to ultimately decide if each ruling was fair.

Binge Mode  http://art19.com/shows/binge-mode-game-of-thrones

If you are one interested in all things entertainment, perhaps Binge Mode should be considered. With different editions such as Harry Potter and Star Wars, the two co-hosts, Mallory Rubin and Jason Concepcion, dive deep into the respective universes. They cover everything from analyzing individual movie scenes to discussing when the character development most distinctively took place.

Teenager Therapy  http://teenagertherapy.carrd.co/

Though undeniably aimed towards teens, Teenager Therapy has something to offer for everyone. As five teens sit down each week to talk about their lives and struggles within them, they share valuable life lessons that they figured out the hard way. From physical insecurity and poor relationships with their parents to struggles with sexuality and breakups, there’s bound to be something that hits close to home.

The WIRED Podcast  http://www.wired.com/tag/podcasts/

This award-winning podcast features a bit of everything, giving the listener the latest in technology, science, business, culture, and more. In episodes released every Friday, the team of hosts focuses on delivering the best compilation of news one may have missed from the past week. That said, the hosts present the topics in a thought-provoking and humorous way, while also throwing in their own viewpoints.

Welcome to Night Vale  http://www.welcometonightvale.com/

This podcast is undeniably stark-different from most put out today. It features a fictional town, posing as the community’s local news program. The hosts give endless information about Night Vale, from traffic updates to the mysterious hooded figures, which have started appearing in the town square. Darkly funny, the podcast paints an American gothic-esque town in which the residents try to live their most normal lives among the very real conspiracy theories.
