Monroe Girls basketball game Friday Jan. 7, 2015 is set to be a pink out. All the girls basketball teams will be playing Saline and having the pink out to benefit Breast Cancer Research.
Instead of selling their game worn jerseys to raise the money this year, the Trojans are selling their warm-ups shirts which will be worn before the game. The team is still taking names for the back of the shirts at $40 each. People interested in sponsoring a warm-up shirt with the name or a loved one who either died from or survived form cancer, Please call the Girls Basketball Coach Larry Nocella at 7344-693-0178. Saline will also be selling their warm-ups.
The Freshmen game starts at 4 p.m. Junior Varsity will start at 5:30 p.m. Varsity will start at 7 p.m. All breast cancer survivors and survivors of other cancers will be recognized during the Varsity game. Also to help support breast cancer research, the Trojans will be having silent raffle baskets, a 50/50 Raffle, a student Raffle and best “pink out bling outfit/appeal” worn to the game. The popular “minute to win” pocket change collection is back and the pop a shot 3-point shooting and free throw contest are scheduled during half time.
