JV Coach Dan Lieto awarded four specific awards to his team last Tuesday. Freshman Joey Cornell received the “most improved” award; Junior Fred Shipp Jr. was awarded the “Player” award, sophomore Jacob Banks received the coaches award, freshman Kyle Peazel received the “sportsmanship” award.
The varsity coach Stuart Martin also awarded four awards to his team. Martin awarded the “coach’s” award to senior Jonathan Morr, senior Rami Dahbour received the “sportsmanship” award, senior Keenan Tullis received the “most valuable” award, and junior Zach Hamil was awarded most improved.
The varsity Trojans finished out the season with 8-11-0, and the JV team 4-5-3. Varsity soccer had a successful season, defeating Crestwood and Belleville winning its own tournament and made it all the way to the district finals, losing in a very close game. Some of its best accomplishments this year were beating SMCC in the annual game for the third year in a row, and the team also beat Ann Arbor Huron for the first time in years.
