The highly anticipated movie The Avengers attracted viewers of all ages. Though I may offend some when I say this, I hated it. This past weekend I went to a drive-in with a bunch of friends and was very excited to see it, yet I was unfortunately disappointed.
Though the many action scenes were a favorite for some, I found them to be long, drawn out and boring. It was the same thing over and over and over again. Something different would have been interesting.
I would consider myself to be somewhat of a Marvel fan as well and I just guess I had higher expectations for such a highly talked about movie. It seemed the highlights to most were the slight humor that I must have missed or the “hot” actresses and actors. The screen was grace with the presence of Scarlett Johansson that made the guys forget about the action scenes all together. For the girls’ eyes, Captain America was a show-stopper, even though they more than likely don’t know what his real name is.
I expected The Avengers to be a lot like the first Transformers which I found to be very good. There was a perfect balance between action, love, and humor while on the other hand The Avengers lacked all excepted unnecessary amounts of pointless dull action. I would compare The Avengers to the third Transformers, which I found to be a lot less pleasing than the first one.
It is kind of sad that I was with all of my friends watching it on a huge screen at the drive–in, and it still was not done justice. All in all, I really wish that I wouldn’t have wasted my time and money on The Avengers. I rate it a 2 out of 10.
